About Me
Mr. Akond is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminology and Police Science at Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU), Bangladesh. With over eight years of teaching experience and 12 years in social research, his academic expertise encompasses criminology, policing, corporate governance, human rights due diligence, labour rights, and social movement (trade union) strategies. His work integrates qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, contributing to a deeper understanding of contemporary socio-legal, crime, and labour victimization issues.
Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in the Department of Political Science at the University of Kassel, Germany. His academic background includes an M.A. in Labour Policies and Globalization from the University of Kassel and Berlin School of Economics and Law, Germany, and an M.S. in Criminology and Police Science from MBSTU, Bangladesh.
He has authored several peer-reviewed research articles and contributed to numerous national and internationally funded research projects. He has presented his research at international conferences and seminars in countries such as Germany, India, and Nepal, and he has also served as a resource person in various academic and professional training programs.
Beyond academia, he actively participates in social activism, volunteer initiatives, and collaborative research with national and international scholars. He has cultivated an international network within the Labour Movement that has enriched his research and activism. This network includes collaborations with scholars, practitioners, and activist organizations across Germany, India, Nepal, South Africa, Keniya, and other countries.
